Josh Belinfante Joins RobbinsLaw | Former Executive Counsel to Governor Perdue to Focus on Litigation, Health Care
ATLANTA, Oct. 26, 2009 – Josh Belinfante, former Executive Counsel to Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue, has joined RobbinsLaw, where he will focus on litigation, health care regulation, appellate and administrative law. “We are excited to welcome Josh to the RobbinsLaw team,” said Richard Robbins, CEO and managing member. “His understanding of state and local government and the health care industry complements our existing practice and will serve our clients well.”
As Governor Purdue's Counsel since January 2007, Belinfante drafted laws on health care, eminent domain and civil practice. He played a key role in the Georgia Certificate of Need legislation, which regulates health care facilities and services, and Georgia Medicaid policies and regulation.
Previously Belinfante was legal counsel to the judiciary committee of the Georgia House of Representatives, and law clerk to Chief Judge J.L. Edmondson of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He also practiced commercial litigation as an associate at Balch & Bingham LLP and Alston & Bird LLP, both in Atlanta.
“Since opening 18 months ago, RobbinsLaw has quickly made its mark in litigation and regulatory law,” Belinfante said. “I am excited to join this experienced team which is known and respected for outstanding counsel.”
An Atlanta native, Belinfante serves on the boards of the local chapters of the Federalist Society and the Jewish National Fund, and was recently appointed by Perdue to serve on the board of the MCG Health, Inc. He is president‐elect of the Pace Academy Alumni Board and a member of both the Fulton County and Georgia Republican Party.
Belinfante holds a law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennslvania. He is a resident of Sandy Springs.
