J.A. has experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in litigation. Before joining RobbinsFreed, J.A. was an attorney with two major Atlanta law firms, including Sutherland Asbill & Brennan, where he handled a wide variety of commercial litigation matters.

J.A. earned his law degree from the Georgia State University College of Law, graduating fifth in his class.  He completed his undergraduate work at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, where he earned a bachelor's degree in North American Studies. 

J.A. has had a longtime interest in hockey, playing both in college and professionally.  Before attending law school, J.A.  played for the Columbus Cottonmouths of the Central Hockey League.  J.A. gained a reputation as a hardnosed player: over the course of his professional and college hockey career, J.A. accumulated over 1,000 penalty minutes. 

J.A. served as Head Coach of the Atlanta Knights Junior Hockey Club from 2007-2009, guiding the team to the semifinals of the USA Hockey Jr. Nationals in 2008.  He still serves as a Senior Advisor to the club and coaches at the youth levels.  J.A. also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Georgia State University Athletics Association.
